Call for Artists: Hau Berlin Theatre open call for women and queers (LGBTQIA+) to take part in the collaborative performance

HAU Hebbel am Ufer Berlis is issuing an open call for women and queers* (LGBTQIA+) to take part in the collaborative performance “RESISTENCIA o la reivindicación de un derecho colectivo”.

“RESISTENCIA o la reivindicación de un derecho colectivo” is a participatory performance that was created in Valparaíso (Chile) in public space with the help of interdisciplinary scenic strategies. Some 50 women and queers* of different ages and backgrounds will become part of a creative laboratory at HAU Hebbel am Ufer (HAU1) for this. The performance will attempt to translate the ideas of Judith Butler, Paul B. Preciado and María Lugones using scenic means, supported by the bodies and experiences of the participants. In the antagonism between repression and joy, death and celebration, accusation and resistance, the focus is placed on the defence of the right to life free from violence in the context of colonialization and the prevalent extractivism.

In order to participate in the performance, taking part in multi-day workshop on 30 November, 1 December, and 2 December 2021 is mandatory (language: Spanish & German). The performances will take place on 4 December 2021 at 7:00 pm and on 5 December 2021 at 5:00 pm.

Every participant will receive a small fee to compensate for their time.
