Based in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, the Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art (CFCCA) has supported art and artists of Chinese, East and Southeast Asian heritage for over thirty years.

We are seeking a dynamic artistic director and an experienced cultural leader who has deep engagement with Chinese contemporary art and visual culture. They will be ambitious to develop a new vision and purpose for the organisation as a whole and be committed to promoting cross cultural dialogue and understanding between cultures through the visual arts.

They will be a confident spokesperson and advocate for the organisation and for the promotion of Chinese contemporary culture in Manchester, nationally and internationally. They will be well-networked and be able to build and maintain effective collaborations with artists, institutions, in order to create the greatest possible impact. The successful candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker and committed to creating the conditions within which artists and a range of creative voices can thrive. They will maintain a focus on communities and audiences, ensuring inclusivity, diversity and relevance across all aspects of the organisation.

Eligibility: We particularly encourage applications from candidates of Chinese heritage, to bring the necessary lived experience and nuanced understandings of being Chinese to this leadership role.

What you get: £48k – 55k (starting salary negotiable dependent on experience).
