Fotogalerie Friedrichshain is pleased to invite artists to participate in its next collective photography exhibition in Berlin, on the theme “Portraits without borders“.

What makes a photograph a portrait?

Today, portrait photography is everywhere and has become a more and more powerful tool in defining individual and collective identities. Portraiture has been constantly reinvented by photographers since the mid-19th century. It has expanded without limits, into a wide spectrum of practices. Defining what a photographic portrait is seems increasingly complex. Fotogalerie Friedrichshain invites photographers to gather in a group exhibition that will challenge the limits of current portrait photography.
